Governance and Risk Advisor

Permanent – 17.5 hours per week, split across 3-4 days

Based in Duns, Scottish Borders with agile working

Salary £14,000 (£28,000 FTE) per annum

Are you passionate about good governance and the positive impact it can have on an organisation? Can you build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders, including Trustees? We are seeking someone who is organised, proactive and motivated, with the ability to communicate effectively, and understands what good governance looks like.

As our Governance and Risk Advisor you will be responsible for the operational delivery of governance related matters across BHA, this includes;

· Maintaining all governance processes, procedures, and documentation to a high standard

· Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements

· Providing day to day support for the Board of Trustees

· Attending Board and Committee meetings and take high quality minutes

· Working alongside the Company Secretary to fulfil company secretary administration

· Ensuring risk management is operating effectively across the organisation

· Maintaining awareness of best practice and applying an improvement focus to governance and risk within BHA

The role does require some evening working to attend Board and Committee meetings, which are held on a Tuesday after 5.30pm. These can be attended virtually, and your core hours can be flexed around these meetings.
