Main Responsibilities
- Leads kitchen team
- Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
- Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
- Create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
- Supervising all kitchen stations
- Supervising, motivating, and working closely with other chefs of all levels
- Ensure that all staff are fully trained
- Ensures a first-in, first out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance.
- Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.
- Determine food inventory needs, stocking and ordering.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen
- Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies.
- Communicating effectively with co-workers and management.
- Any other duties as required to fulfil the company needs.
