We are looking for an exceptional Head of IT Operations to join our team within our IT department at our facility in Enstone, Oxfordshire where you will take responsibility of leading the IT Operations team.

Head of IT Operations – The Role

As part of this role, you will be responsible for all IT Operations including the Service desk and its escalation process, Infrastructure, High Performance Computing, Cloud Environments and the Track IT Team. You will be a vital part of the IT leadership group maintaining excellent levels of all IT services under the IT operations banner. This will include the availability and performance for all up and running systems. You will be pivotal in improving the quality of the service desk and how the information and requests flow into the IT department. Providing a high-quality service to our end users.

You will create and maintain a framework which is at the heart of the IT operations group, holding the group to a high standard. Knowledge of frameworks such as COBIT 5, NIST or ISO 27000 which are streamlined to our fast paced, agile environment would be an advantage.

You will manage expectations and communicate performance against SLA’s, whilst managing the communication of major incidents and changes with relevant stakeholders. You will project manage and resource plan the key projects within the group to provide clear time frames and milestones which the business can trust. You will be responsible for the out of hours support and availability provision at Enstone and trackside always ensuring reliability and user satisfaction.

This is a crucial leadership role to ensure excellence is achieved consistently.

Head of IT Operations – The Person

The successful candidate will be a talented and user-centric leader who can communicate effectively at all levels. Experience of working in a structured environment and a desire to develop the members of the team to achieve the next step of their careers is essential. You will have proven project and resource management skills and feel comfortable managing all the group’s projects on time and to budget.

A drive to continually improve every part of the department and embrace and promote change. While leading people through a highly pressurised environment in a calm, clear, focused approach concentrating on the key priorities. It is essential that the candidate has a track record of achieving excellence within a leadership IT Operations role.
