About the role

The available role is for a Haircare Test Technician in the Personal Care research team, an upstream group investigating a wide selection of technologies to identify opportunities within the Personal Care category. The Dyson Supersonic™, Airwrap™, and Corrale™ all started their technical journey within this team.

You will form a crucial part of the team, responsible for testing our new technologies and products to help the team understand exactly how to improve hair drying and hair styling. This will involve learning and becoming an expert operator of our existing hair measurement tests, as well as assisting the engineering team to develop new and improved investigation methods.

Working alongside our existing test technicians and working in state-of-the-art test labs you will form a key part of a business-critical team, essential to the successful development of our newest and most innovative haircare technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• The application of new and existing methods to test the performance of our haircare products.

• Operation and maintenance of lab equipment critical to haircare tests.

• Managing multiple test plans simultaneously.

• Ensure test results are accurately documented and reported to project owners.

• Keep very clear and precise records of all testing procedures and results.

• Highlighting and recommending improvements to test methods and lab processes.

• Maintain a good standard of housekeeping within the laboratory and development areas.

• Work with the existing test team to ensure all requirements of the wider research team are met.

About you

• Experience working in a test lab performing controlled measurements.

• Experience working with hair tresses is advantageous but not essential.

• Ability to manage your own time to ensure the agreed tests are performed and delivered on time and to a high standard.

• Experience using computer systems to input, retrieve and update all relevant data

• Evidence of being able to efficiently follow and deliver test plans over an extended number of days without close observation.

• Accurate with very good attention to detail
