These are exciting times for the progressive, rapidly expanding Supportive Care & Chemotherapy Daycare Unit at UCH. We provide highly specialised care for a wide variety of patient groups within haematology and oncology, between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday. Staff in this friendly and supportive team develop a range of advanced skills and knowledge by rotating between the 4 main areas of Daycare. Our Red Cell/General Haematology/Oncology area provides holistic care for haemoglobinopathy patients as well as follow-up and treatments for patients who have undergone high dose chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant. We have a busy and varied Oncology and Haematology unit; and a highly respected Apheresis service. The staff member will be working as part of a larger team of Nursing assistants across the 2 floors of daycare in the Macmillan centre. They will be responsible for their own caseload as well as working with the nursing staff in caring for patients across the unit.

Band 3 vacancy within the exciting, and innovative Haematology & Chemotherapy Daycare units. The successful candidate will be part of a large dynamic team caring for patients with both Malignant and non-malignant haematological, oncological and head and neck disorders. The candidate must have an NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and experience of working in an acute setting. Venepuncture is desirable although not essential as training will be provided to the successful candidate.
