Healthcare Support Worker Job at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
Trauma Unit
Ready for the recognition and rewards you deserve? Be Brilliant with RCHT.
This is your chance to be part of an amazing dynamic Orthopaedic Trauma Team where patient care is at the centre of everything we do.
Can you make a difference to each patient’s experience of the NHS?
A Healthcare Support Worker is no ordinary job and it is not for an ordinary person. We need caring, supportive people who love helping others and can come to work with a positive attitude and a friendly smile. If that sounds like you, then we guarantee you will leave at the end of each shift feeling proud of the work you have done to support patients to feel and be at their best.
The Orthopaedic Trauma Unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro is recruiting now and we want you!!
We are very happy to talk informally during your application or would be happy to provide a tour of the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit.
The Trauma Unit in RCH in Truro is a 54 bed facility, split into 2 wards of 27. We provide care to inpatients with orthopaedic trauma injuries ranging from simple hand injuries to major multiple limb trauma. The nursing staff are supported by a fantastic multi-disciplinary team which includes the Medical Trauma Team, the Ortho-geriatrician Team, dedicated ward-based therapists and the Trauma Co-ordination Team, all of whom strive to ensure positive patient outcomes.
If you are looking to provide outstanding patient care, happy to go the extra mile and can adapt to a quick-paced environment, then you are who we are looking for.
It is not essential to have worked within Surgery or Trauma to apply for this position. We work together to create a positive team spirit, recognising achievements and celebrating success. We know that happy patients start with happy staff.
Here at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust we are proud of the first class care we provide our patients and to further support this we are expanding our teams of Healthcare Care Support Workers across all departments within the Hospital. You will be trained to complete your Care Certificate which gives you all the skills you need to be a success (aside from your brilliant personality and helpful nature!). But it doesn’t stop there – if you want to progress in your career we can even offer you the opportunity to specialise with specialist skills or take our fantastic apprenticeship to become a nurse. No university fees, no student debts - you can earn whilst you learn! What are you waiting for?
Cornwall is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the stunning coastline is at your fingertips, which actively promotes a healthy work-life balance….COME AND JOIN US.
Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.
