We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our highly collaborative analytical team working across P&G’s Oral Care business portfolio. This is a lab-based role working on site at P&G’s Reading Innovation Centre within the Research & Development function.

Your responsibilities would include:

• Executing testing of raw materials and finished Oral Care products with excellence. This will typically require a combination of physical and chemical tests including titrations, chromatography, wet chemistry tests and similar. The work will need to be documented in line with Good Manufacturing Procedures taking into account P&G Standard Operations Procedures.

• Ownership and maintenance of lab equipment is expected as part of this work, managing calibrations and validation with the relevant instrument vendors/engineers.

• Taking initiative to learn foundations of analytical methodology and tests, and start to learn in adjacent areas (ex. product chemistry, statistics, etc.) while also seeking to find ways to optimize effectiveness and productivity working with their technical coach/manager.

• Able to develop new approaches and methods with significant input from manager/coach and demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks and displays flexibility in responding to project driven priority changes from their manager/coach.

Qualifications

• A passion for laboratory testing and analytical method understanding, with either a degree in chemistry (or related field) or equivalent qualifications/practical experience.

• Well organised with good time-management skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines across multiple projects.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an aptitude for quality technical writing. Proficiency in English.

• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills – must be able to effectively interact with a diverse group of people from different functions, of different nationalities and at different levels within the company.
