About Us:
Covanta is a global leader in the Energy from Waste (EfW) sector and has a growing fleet of power stations in the UK and Ireland. Our new and modern plants are being built to exacting safety, environmental, construction and operational standards that reduce greenhouse gases, generate clean energy and recycle metals.
We are now staffing our newest facility in Newhurst (near Loughborough at the M1 junction 23), United Kingdom. This plant expected to accept first waste by October 2022 and after that we expect our next new plant in Ellesmere Port, Liverpool to be operational in 2023.
Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader and Mechanical Maintenance Technicians (with power industrial experience) - Newhurst, Loughborough.
Our Team Leaders and Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the routine Maintenance and repair and major outages across the entire plant. Covanta is seeking to become an employer of choice in the UK and this involves building a team of highly competent maintenance staff covering all aspects of plant maintenance in a safe, efficient and environmentally compliant manner.
Our plants operate 24/7, and the maintenance team will oversee the maintenance activities ranging from routine maintenance and repair to major outages all in a safe and compliant manner. Standard hours will be day time working from Monday to Friday and a call out rota will be in place for out of hours support.
Your education and experience:
- Higher National Diploma or National Vocational Qualification Level 4 or 3 in a technical or science subject, although relevant other qualifications with energy recovery or large process plant experience will be considered for the role.
A recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship is desirable.
- Ideally have at least 5 years hands on experience in a medium or large industrial facility.
Working knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and experience in all aspects of mechanical maintenance and workshop activities.
- Industrial plant outage planning and execution is desirable.
As the site Maintenance Team Leader you'll also have the experience and motivation to be able to build and lead your own team of technicians.
