Patient Services Manager | Operations | Competitive salary plus excellent benefits | Portsmouth | Permanent – Full-Time

Spire Portsmouth Hospital in Havant have an exciting new opportunity for a Patient Services Manager to join the team.

This role will be to provide an efficient administration service within reception, ward and medical records (& Medical Secretaries) for the hospital, and to manage staff and processes within established policies and process. You will also need to ensure an exemplary level of customer service is upheld in the provision of services to patients, consultants and the hospital team.

Duties and responsibilities;

  • To provide day to day management of administration staff within designated areas ensuring that individual team member's performance, appraisal and daily tasks are completed to a high level of service both to internal and external customers
  • To manage the reception and associated ward administration staff ensuring all rotas are maintained/changed and updated in line with the ever-changing business need including adapting for sickness leave, service demands, and distribute the administration rota as required.
  • To oversee the management of Medical Records in accordance with Spire Policy, incorporating efficient filing processes, access to records and adherence to audit requirements
  • To ensure the effective training of staff to complete tasks relating to each admin function as required as well as day to day management of staff to include performance, appraisal etc.
  • To manage all finance elements associated with the reception functions that are undertaken by members of the team including payments and monitoring the banking at the end of shift/day

Who we're looking for;

  • Proficient IT and organisation skills with experience of MS office suites to include database and excel
  • Educated to GCSE in maths and English or equivalent
  • First level management qualification or equal experience
  • Previous relevant experience in an Administrative support role and in managing large teams in a customer facing environment
  • Strong verbal and written skills as well as excellent telephone and customer service skills
