Summary
The Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Safeguarding Adults Board (DBCPSAB) is a statutory partnership board independent of, but hosted by BCP Council. It is a combined Board which undertakes the statutory functions for both Dorset Council and BCP Council, as defined and set out within the Care Act 2014.
We are looking for a dynamic and organised person with the necessary skills to undertake the role of Business Manager
This role is for 22 hours per week and is predominantly home-based. The successful applicant will need to be able to prioritise the demands of the role and engage with a wide range of people including the Independent Chair, in order to build and maintain the working relationships that are so key to the success of the DBCPSAB.
The successful applicant will work alongside another Business Manager, sharing tasks and responsibilities, but you will also be responsible for your own areas of work.
What you will be doing
This is a critical role in developing and delivering the Boards’ strategic plan and ensuring that the Boards fulfil their statutory duties and assurance functions.
You will work with colleagues across all partner organisations, including the statutory partners of Dorset Council, BCP Council, NHS Dorset and Dorset Police. Other partners include NHS Providers, Fire & Rescue Service, Prisons & Probation services, DWP, Housing and the Voluntary and Community sector. The team in which you work will be led by the Independent Chair. You will coordinate the business for the Board and its sub-groups liaising with the Chairs, to deliver the agendas. You will have a key role in supporting the delivery of statutory Safeguarding Adult Reviews
You will line manage one of the other staff in the Business Unit, either a Project Officer or the Administrator. The ability to work collaboratively using appropriate technology is key; most meetings will be held virtually.
You will collaborate with other safeguarding partnerships locally, focussing on children and community safety and you will be expected to collaborate regionally with other SAB Business Managers and actively participate in the SAB Business Managers National Network.
