Contract type: Fixed term for 12 weeks (paid work experience)
Hours: 14 hours per week
Would you enjoy supporting the delivery and creation of web accessibility audits? Would you like to improve your understanding of web coding including HTML5 as well as your understanding of WCAG guidelines whilst helping those affected by sight loss and other disabilities? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Accessibility team.
The RNIB is the leading UK's sight loss charity helping blind and partially sighted people thrive. The new team brings together Inclusive Design expertise from across RNIB and will boost innovation capacity to deliver both money and mission.
The team works with external companies on making websites more accessible and usable, especially for those with sight loss, we aim to accelerate progress towards a world which is more equitable for people with sight loss.
This role could be your first job or your next move to getting back into work after a break. We particularly encourage applications with lived experience of sight loss. You will have sound IT skills including experience with MS Office – Outlook, Word, and Excel and also a basic knowledge of HTML. Good attention to detail and solid communication and organisational skills is also essential.
The role is part of RNIB’s See Work Differently employment initiative for unemployed blind and partially sighted people to secure that first rung on the career ladder or who are returning to work following a career break.
