Service Group Director Job at Swansea Bay University Health Board
Swansea Bay University Health Board provides services in complex, multi-skilled environment to a post-industrial population which is becoming increasingly elderly, diverse and socio-economically disadvantaged. As a body which has integrated all health services we have the opportunity to embrace the development of modern integrated care, based on driving new service models, workforce approaches and digital platforms which will truly transform care for our patients, public and citizens.
Our Health Board has three key roles around provision, commissioning and population health for a population of over 400,000 residents and a catchment population of around one million people across South West Wales for a range of local, sub-regional and regional specialties.
This is an exciting time to join the Health Board as we are starting to implement our strategic “Changing For the Future” programme, particularly focusing on the evolution of Morriston, Singleton and Neath Port Talbot hospitals to become individual ‘Centres of Excellence’ for different types of care. Specifically, Singleton will become a centre of excellence for planned care, cancer care and diagnostics. It will be our powerhouse for planned operations, day case treatments, short stay care and a place for clinical diagnostics. Neath Port Talbot will become a centre of excellence for orthopaedic and spinal care, diagnostics, rehabilitation and rheumatology.
In this role you will be able not only to drive a strategic change on a significant scale, but also to deliver rapid and tangible improvements in quality and timeliness in access to care. This post will be pivotal to accelerating recovery and making service delivery sustainable in the longer term. We are open to candidates from a wide range of professional backgrounds who have the ability to build relationships, shape strategic vision and provide expert leadership and direction to a diverse group of clinicians, leaders and staff to ensure we become providers of outstanding care to the people we serve.
