We are recruiting for a workshop manager for our highly successful client who truly changes customers' lives!

Job Overview

Responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the workshop.

Managing a team of highly skilled engineers and workshop controllers, this role requires an experienced manager able to support the team in achieving their daily jobs.

Someone who can positively engage the team, has good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks effectively, make decisions and get things done without supervision.

A problem-solving approach to challenges is key to the success of this role, a real leader; someone who can drive results.

Customer service skills are essential as there is an element of customer-facing interaction, ensuring the company is providing excellent service throughout the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for allocating work to the engineers effectively based on skillset and job location
• Day to day running of the workshop, ensuring scheduled work is completed daily and any issues addressed promptly to have minimum customer impact
• Working closely with the engineers and supporting the team keeping own knowledge up to date
• Adhering and ensuring staff follow health and safety policies
• Investigating complaints and liaising with the office manager to ensure a response is given in a timely manner
• Ensuring staff have the right skills and are up to date in all aspects of their training
• Coaching and supporting staff on training needs
• Supporting the development of an engaged, talented and high performing engineering team, nurturing an innovative and continuous improvement culture

Supervising the workshop controllers:

• Ensuring the engineer’s weekly diaries are scheduled in the most effective way based on their technical skills and the job location
• Overseeing all goods deliveries to ensure they are logged accurately and match the order; escalating any issues to the office manager promptly
• Ensuring optimum management of stock, including the accurate and timely process of returns

Desirable Skills

• Have 5 years of experience in a similar challenging engineering or service delivery role
• Be safety conscious and familiar in the planning and execution of all H&S aspects
• Have good Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Calendars)
