Baycroft in Kempston is an elegant 80-bed Care Home where everyone is made to feel loved, safe and comfortable. The home offers residential, nursing and dementia care and puts their residents at the heart of everything they do. We would value talented people to join us and share in our vision!


The role


We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of a Care Assistant in Kempston, Bedford.

Salary: £12.00 per hour (£10.90 plus £1.10 market supplement)

Working hours: 36 hours over a 7 day rota . Days 8am - 8pm (required to work every other weekend - 2 week rolling rota).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting our residents with their daily personal care needs whilst promoting their dignity and individuality.
  • Working as part of a strong, talented team.Helping our residents with their hygiene, mobility and physical comfort.
  • Reporting to our dedicated nursing team regarding any illness, accident or event incurred by our residents, colleagues or visitors.
  • Undertaking observations of our residents and documenting this as necessary in their care plans.
  • Having a positive and friendly disposition.
  • Offering ongoing comfort to our residents who may be ill or requiring care at the end of their life, whilst making sure that their religious or cultural needs are fulfilled.

What you will need to succeed


We are looking for someone who believes in working together as part of a team, who shares our values and who is positive and friendly. The successful candidate will:

  • Share in our values with a genuine interest in caring for vulnerable residents.
  • Have a personal or professional experience in caring for others.
  • Be eager and willing to undertake further training.
  • Have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social care (desirable).
