To provide a high quality, efficient and effective project management support to the Complex Case Review Team.
The Project Manager will work with a team responsible for the trauma and orthopaedic complex case review recall project.
The role will enable the organisation to identify and deliver high quality services in line with the Trusts Strategic Objectives. The post holder will have significant experience in project management, NHS operational delivery and proven experience of delivering tangible benefits in this area.
The post holder is expected to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with other staff members characterised by trust, mutual respect, and open, honest communication.

To plan and monitor the project adopting any delegation and use of project assurance roles with the agreed structure.

12 MONTH SECONDMENT - PROJECT MANAGER - MEDICAL DIRECTORATE
The Trust’s Medical Directorate, headed by the Chief Medical Officer, is looking to recruit a Project Manager as a secondment for 12 months in the first instance potentially extendable. This is an opportunity for a highly skilled individual to join our team and be part of a strong, forward-thinking team.
The Project Manager will work closely with the Medical Directorate team members to deliver on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Complex Case Review and Recall Project with responsibilities including all aspects of service relationships, such as governance and reporting.
Assisting in the operational development of the areas of work, the post holder will deliver monthly updates to the CMO for external stakeholders such as NHSE, CQC and Trust Board, maintaining relationships across the organisation, external partners and experts to ensure successful delivery.
This busy role requires a confident, self-motivated, enthusiastic and organised person, who is able to rise to new challenges and undertake tasks regardless of level. The post holder will need to be flexible in order to ensure the needs of the service are met and also be willing to work across the Trust footprint. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and co-ordinate the project of interventions and actions.
- Ensure active engagement of all project stakeholders to provide assurance of support for proposals
- Translate opportunities for improvement which are deliverable within agreed resources and timeframes and ensure achievement of objectives and outcomes
- Secure resources, advice and sign off for delivery plans and project report risks, issues and mitigating actions through agreed channels and governance structure.
- Be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of the project on time, to quality standards to support benefits as outlined by NHSE
- To lead rigorous and robust project management, planning, reporting, managing project risks, with a strong focus on patient outcomes.
- Line management of the complex case administration support and operational management of the project team.
- Operational day to day running of the complex case recall.
- Daily use of Microsoft 365 and shares folders.
- Work closely with the Medical Directorate team business manager on relevant matters such as contracts and finance
- Report to the Medical Directorate Team meetings
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver requirements listed and engage and liaise with key stakeholders
- Provide a hands-on approach to the identification and delivery of the project
- Support the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Directorate Business Manager to identify the project’s budget and management
- In conjunction with the Clinical Lead, ensure that proposals and delivery plans are based on evidenced best practice to improve quality and outcomes
- Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, analysing and presenting information in an effective and sensitive manner, to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.
- To establish and maintain project management systems and documentation so that project and delivery plans meet governance and assurance expectations
- Support and manage effectively in high pressure situations
- Ensure that clinical leadership is central to the delivery of the respective elements of the project
- Maintain the project initiation plan document and associated plans with regular team meetings to monitor progress and resources and report to the Trust as required
- Pro-actively manage stakeholders, respond to and resolve conflict between different stakeholders when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms
- Ensure the Trust’s standardised approach the project is implemented in all aspects of the recall. This may involve working with colleagues in other departments to complete a baseline assessment of practice.
- Be responsible for review and challenge of all project documentation, including feedback to Project Leads on areas of weakness or whether further information is required and support securing this information
- Be responsible for monitoring delivery of the project ensuring it is delivered on time and within budget.
- Link with managers and members of other functions, to address inter- dependencies and ensure alignment in the interest of the project.
- Support the Clinical Lead in escalation, reporting, governance, oversight and support frameworks throughout project delivery to ensure the projects are able to remain on track and deliver maximum benefits.
- Ensure robust Quality Impact Assessments, Equality Impact Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments are developed for any programme or project undertaken
- Provide effective support to the development of robust project governance arrangements and management processes
- Support the development of reports, papers and multiple project outputs on a range of topics associated with the project, using a variety of software and data systems to access and generate information.
- Provide assurance to the Medical Directorate Programme Lead
- Provide timely project progress updates for the Programme workstreams, Divisional Boards and other Executive Sponsors and stakeholders.
- Maintain the project actions and plan ensuring all actions are completed on time or plans are in place for those that fall behind schedule.
- Ensure all Trust policies are adhered to in all aspects of work
