The Bridgewater Hall is Manchester's international concert venue, built to give the best possible space for music. The Hall hosts over 250 performances a year including classical music, rock, pop, jazz, world music and much more. The Hall also provides a unique and exciting environment for conferences, exhibitions, receptions and other corporate events.

ASM Global as manager of the Venue is seeking the skills of a highly motivated, talented and experienced individual to take on the role of Deputy House Manager under the direction of the House Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing operational support to the House Manager and act as Duty Manager on concert nights and for other events.The successful applicant will be required to prepare the Venue for use by promoters and the general public and to play a key role in the provision of world class customer service.

The Deputy House Manager works within the House Management Department with two other positions comprising of a second Deputy House Manager (there are two equal roles within the department) and a House Supervisor; reporting to the House Manager.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• The ability to work autonomously and within a team to provide an active role in the maintenance of high-quality standards and the on-going development of the House Management Team.
• High levels of motivation
• Excellent interpersonal and people management skills in order to assist with the development of the staff and the operation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
• Good all-round administrative software skills: experience of using Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent administrative skills
• Excellent personal presentation
• Keen attention to detail
• Cash handling experience
• Demonstrated track record in customer service environment and delivery of high levels of customer service
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• A commitment to work evening and weekend hours as required (mandatory)

• Knowledge of current volunteering best proactive
• A tertiary level music qualification or equivalent industry experience preferably working within symphony orchestra industry and or the contemporary music or venue management industries
