Finance Assistant - 6 month FTC Job at Safran

Job description

The Finance Assistant will supports the Finance team & wider company employees in preparation & reporting of Financial Statements, including Credit Control / Accounting / Controlling / Travel Management.

1. Controlling
  • Weekly Inventory reporting to business stakeholders.
  • Daily tracking of MRO report writing activity (warranty flags) & Time tracking activity.
  • Supporting bid work with business development including cost queries (adhoc)
  • New material creation & master data maintenance.
  • Supporting daily sales refreshes (OE, Spares & MRO) at a transactional level. Look for missed billings, especially on MRO.
  • Support Month end. Inventory WIP reporting & small number of journals including Ontic. Includes running orderbooks and Fracas extracts for month end reporting.

2. Accounting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations on specific accounts : training on the job provided
  • AR and AP master data analysis (duplicate accounts, errors, trading partner checks)
  • Fixed assets inventory: identifying and labelling assets, helping updating fixed assets register follow-up
  • Travel expenses conformity checks : analyse staff expenses claims, check compliance with internal policies, check provided back-up, liaise with operationals to resolve any issue, escalate to Manager when identifying issues, coordinate payment runs
  • Parked invoices : helped resolve parked invoices due to no good receipts, liaise with SSC AP team and operationals
  • Assist external audit campaign

3. Credit control :
  • support the credit control team in the cash collection, reporting (Chase customers, reconciling customer statements, assist with month end tasks, assist credit control team in ad-hoc queries)

  • Propose improvements of tools and processes within the Group.
  • Attend meetings and training at other locations as required.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required within your competency.
  • Adhere to all Group policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any training and development activities at the request of your line manager.
  • Take care of your own safety and the safety of others at all times by complying with the Health & Safety Policy at all times
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

Job requirements

  • Graduate or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly computer literate (Strong Excel skills a prerequisite, experience of Power BI, SAP an advantage)
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment an advantage
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good time management
  • Flexible “can-do” attitude and ability to work under own initiative
