This role will be responsible for the programme management governance for network wide projects that will deliver sustainable benefits. As well as supporting network wide projects, the successful candidate will also be a conduit between the Network and back through into the Trusts.

The post holder will support transformational change, quality improvements, and value using effective and sustainable approaches, within and across organisations; to improve the quality and experience for clinicians requesting pathology and patients receiving care and interventions following receipt of pathology test results. This role will involve complex negotiation and influence with senior service directors, clinicians and managers at both an operational and strategic level across the Network and at NHSE regional level. The manager will lead on the management and co-ordination of the Network’s work programme whilst at the same time supporting the Network Director and the Board with strategic development of services throughout the region to understand current pan-network pathology service provision by building a commitment to partnership working and improve alignment of services.

The post provides programme management leadership which will deliver the core requirements of the work programme within the Peninsula Pathology Network. The Network Programme Manager will lead programmes of work across a virtual team and promote partnership working across constituent organisations to deliver agreed annual priorities. Current key workstreams include, Laboratory Information Management Systems replacement, Digital Pathology deployment, Workforce development and will over time cover all domains of the national pathology transformation agenda as they apply locally. The Peninsula Pathology Network Programme Manager will lead on programme management and co-ordination of the network to support the strategic development of all pathology related services throughout Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Work within the wider regional pathology area, and with other Networks eg Cancer Alliance, undertaking a key role in supporting service improvement and transformation, ensuring right care, right place, right time for our patients and families

Provide cross-cover for team members within the Peninsula Pathology Network Team as required. Lead on identified work streams as agreed by the Pathology Network Director. Work with Pathology Network Team to further develop network leadership and governance arrangements that will support the network in the delivery of its aims. Work to ensure efficiencies in pathology service performance through working as a team in business support and analytical staff.
