Our Legal Services division is expanding rapidly to respond to high levels of demand and we have an exciting new opportunity for a full time Private Client Legal Assistant in our Portsmouth office. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning, your work load will be varied and the focus of your role will be to provide full time administration support to our remote working Private Client Lawyers.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

ESSENTIAL

• minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Paralegal / Legal Assistant in a law firm
• excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
• organised, methodical with excellent attention to detail
• team player with a strong work ethic and drive
• kind, empathetic manner in dealing with clients
• highly personable with excellent communication skills and presentation

DESIRABLE

• a degree in law / CiLEX qualification
• private client law experience
• knowledge of Case Management system LEAP
• knowledge of ARKEN (legal document drafting software)
• familiar with typing documents via digital dictation

Key Responsibilities:

• effective filing and document management with use of a Case Management system
• diary management for client appointments
• data entry for preliminary stages of drafting legal documents (particularly Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney)
• engrossment of legal documents
• updating and maintaining the document storage database
