Role Category - the way you'll work:
This role is categorised as a roam role. Roaming roles are a mixture of home and hub working with, in some instances, a degree of being out and about delivering services to customers. Your working day will be determined by what you need to do and where you need to go to maximise your productivity. This means that you could start and finish your day in different places depending on what you need to do, so we’ll support you working from a variety of locations.
The Role & The Person:
Supporting Young Families in Gilesgate, School View.
At our and School View scheme, Gilesgate, we provide accommodation and support for expectant young parents and young parents with families aged 16-25. Our flats are two bedroom, furnished with access to our communal lounge, kitchen and laundry.

School View consists of two members of staff working on a three-week rolling rota basis. The schemes are staffed 7 days a week, but not 24 hours.
We are looking to recruit an individual who has skills of supporting vulnerable client groups, knowledge of ensuring families are Safeguarded and have the ability to empower clients to achieve positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will also require a good understanding of risk management and demonstrate good resilience in challenging situations.
The role also includes an element of supporting complex families, in their own home, on an outreach basis across County Durham. Therefore, a driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team to achieve the outcomes set out by the commissioning bodies, whilst also demonstrating a Team Thirteen approach to customer service delivery.
A minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent or demonstrable experience is a requirement of the job role.
Previous experience of working with and supporting vulnerable young adults and the ability to understand support plans, risk assessments, safeguarding policies and procedures are essential.
