Support Worker
Location: Greater Manchester
Pay rate: £11.45 to £15.22
An exciting opportunity has come up for Support Workers to join a team of children’s residential support / childcare workers to provide Night Residential Child Care Workers. You will work within a 6 bedded residential children's home. We are looking for people who believe they have the qualities and skills needed to support our children and maintain stability. You will need to be emotionally and physically fit to work with young people age 11 - 17 who are emotionally challenging and have complex needs..
We are looking for people who believe they have the qualities and skills needed to support our children and maintain stability. You will need to be able to establish and maintain relationships with the young people to challenge their existing patterns of behaviour. You will create a culture and ethos within the home in which the needs of the young people are paramount, and they are encouraged to develop, mature and grow. In addition, you will work proactively with appropriate stakeholders to assess the individual’s needs and ensure positive outcomes.

Shift patterns are 35 hours per week / 21:45pm - 7:45am /140hrs over 4 weeks, one week 5 nights, 2nd week 2 nights etc
In this role you will
This post requires the holder to do varying shifts, which include early morning and late evening work, sleep-in and an on call rota system. The post holder also is required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank

This role is ideally located for those travelling from Bolton, Bury , Oldham, Manchester, Rochdale, Stockport, Trafford, Macclesfield, Warrington, Wigan, Huddersfield, Oldham, Ashton under Lyne, Macclesfield , Bury, Altrincham, Bolton, Middleton, Urmston, Huddersfield, Irlam, Stretford, Eccles and Salford, Rochdale and Stockport.

In this role you will
Support a young person in their residential placement
Attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs.
Act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
Provide a positive support and impact to the young person.
Interact with them, play games, teach them to cook, clean and ensure they and their home are generally well looked after
Maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the young person.
Establish positive relationships with young people and always offer them unconditional and positive regard.
Provide advice, assistance, and support on a 1:1 basis to enable the young person to address past and present difficulties
Keeping accurate records and provide written reports on young people for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager
Hold a full driving licence

The Ideal candidate will
Have a level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent)
Previous experience of Support Work
An accreditation in completing specialist assessment (e.g. PAMS, AIM) Desirable
Enhanced DBS
A dedicated consultant who has access to all roles across the UK and is available for you to speak to
