Workshop Assistants (Labourers) Job at The Royal Opera House
Based in Purfleet, Essex
The sets and scenery for the Royal Opera House are built by teams of highly-skilled scenic carpenters, draughtsman, and metalworkers in the Production Workshop at The Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop, our purpose built state-of-the-art 3750 sq metre building in Purfleet, Essex.
We are currently looking to increase our pool of Workshop Assistants who are available to work on a casual basis to assist with duties for Scenic Construction, Scenic Painting and our Carpentry and Metalwork workshops.
You will ideally have:
- Experience of labouring skills in a workshop or construction environment is desirable
- Basic knowledge of workshop machinery and able to undertake basic maintenance tasks
- A full clean driving license and ability to drive the ROH van is essential
- Previous forklift driving desirable (though training will be given)
- Strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy, safe working and best practice
- Experience involving the movement of large scenic items an advantage
