Position: Swimming Instructor Level 1 or Level 2

Salary: £22,776-£32,136 p.a. (FTE)

Key duties

• To promote swimming sport to participants and encourage them to maintain participation and progression by supporting links with existing swimming clubs.
• To ensure the participants are provided with suitable levels of coaching.
• To develop the participants skills through effective planning, organisation of sessions and use of appropriate resources.
• To ensure that sessions take place in a safe and secure environment.
• To be responsible for the well being of the participants attending the session, which includes making those taking part aware of the rules, organisational and safety requirements and ensuring all participants abide by such rules.
• To ensure the standards of inclusive practice are adhered to in line with agreed swimming projects' standards.
• To undertake administration duties as and when required, including monitoring attendance figures, registration forms and registers of attendance.
• To be responsible, where appropriate, for all necessary equipment.
• Liaise closely with line managers regarding amendments to sessions particularly regarding timing and absence.
• To ensure arrival at a session venue is punctual and provided for adequate preparations the session can start at the agreed time.

As a Swimming Instructor, you will need to demonstrate significant work experience within the swimming pool environment and hold an ASA or Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.

You will ideally hold a NRASTC or NPLQ qualification or be willing to undertake the qualification. Other qualifications such as Adult and Baby, Stage 8-10 or other aquatic disciplines would be very desirable.

Please note that the swimming term is 50 weeks a year.
